The Global Hawk, USAF’s Long-Endurance Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV), first flew from Edwards Air Force Base, California on February 28 1998. Global Hawk is an aircraft and system developed by Northrop Grumman to fly aircraft by remote control. The Global Hawk UAV is optimized for high altitude, long range and endurance that is capable of providing 28 hours of endurance while carrying 3,000 pounds of payload and operating at 65,000 feet mean sea level. The aircraft flies pilot-less and has been used to fly from the U.S. to Australia. Also it has made many other successful flights.
